For over 30 years, Mr. Folmar was an award-winning global sales and marketing executive at such Fortune 1000 firms as GSK (formerly Smithkline Beechman), Xerox, Ricoh, and Lanier Worldwide. In 2010, he left the world of corporate management to become a residential real estate investor, real estate trainer, real estate news publisher, and real estate radio talk show host in Detroit.

In 2014, Mr. Folmar founded HWF Magazine Group. HWF publishes regional B2C magazines featuring timely health, wellness, and fitness information written by medical and health care professionals. Mr. Folmar currently offers market-specific versions of his magazine in 10 locales across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with new editions rolling out nationally over the next two years.

In 2019, Mr. Folmar was honored by the Small Business Administration by being invited to join its Emerging Leaders Initiative, an executive-level program for established business owners to help accelerate the growth of their high-potential small businesses.
